Vitrm SmartLayer transforms any glass surface into instantly switchable privacy, purpose-built for clinical environments.

Our retrofittable PDLC smart film offers a hygienic, modern alternative to cubicle curtains — particularly in ICU, where curtain laundering, infection control, and constant visual disruption remain persistent challenges. With one switch, glass moves from clear to opaque, preserving natural light and open sightlines.

SmartLayer is the only UL-listed, pluggable switchable opacity film on the market — certified to UL 962 and UL E538104 (Electrified Glazing), ASTM E84 Class A fire-rated, and FCC tested.

Applications include ICU bays, telemedicine consultation rooms, nursing stations, examination areas, and behavioural health spaces. The anti-scratch finish cleans with standard disinfection agents, and in a power outage the film defaults to opaque so that patient privacy is never compromised.
